Position Summary The Division Controller is responsible for division‑level financial leadership and risk management, including financial, operational, safety, legal, employee, and overall business performance. This role ensures the effectiveness of internal controls, compliance with IFRS/GAAP, government regulations, and ATS governance standards, while acting as a strategic partner to the Director of operations and leadership. The Division Controller serves as a key member of the division leadership team, accountable for financial integrity, governance, talent development, and long‑term business sustainability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • Minimum 7 + years of progressive experience in manufacturing, cost accounting, and financial leadership
  • Experience in project‑based accounting (Percentage of Completion)
  • Exposure to international entities, FX, consolidation, and transfer pricing
  • Strong ERP experience (Global Shop Solutions, OneStream, or similar preferred)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and relationship‑building skills
  • Advanced analytical, financial, and problem‑solving capabilities
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across a matrix organization
  • Hands‑on leader capable of balancing strategic and tactical responsibilities
  • Office‑based role with periodic exposure to manufacturing environments
  • Ability to meet physical requirements consistent with ATS standards
  • Capable of wearing required PPE during manufacturing floor visits

Nice To Haves

  • CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional designation preferred
  • Experience in a public company and/or SOX‑controlled environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for division financial performance, ensuring achievement of approved fiscal plans (revenue, EBIT, cash flow, on time delivery, margin, inventory turns).
  • Own division risk management, including financial, legal, safety, employee, operational, and business continuity risks.
  • Ensure 100% governance and compliance with: ATS corporate policies Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies ISO standards and procedures IFRS / GAAP and SOX / internal control requirements
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and accountability partner to the Executive Leadership Team, demonstrating extreme ownership in commitments and results.
  • Lead and develop finance team members through documented development plans, coaching, and succession planning
  • Maintain full compliance with ATS work‑from‑home, travel, and corporate conduct policies.
  • Maintain and continuously improve the internal controls framework, including the internal controls memorandum.
  • Implement proactive and predictive financial control, reporting, and audit systems.
  • Safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with SOX/Bill 198 requirements.
  • Regularly collaborate with other Divisional Controllers to align with ATS best practices.
  • Lead preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and long‑range plans, including executive summaries.
  • Identify operational and financial risks within business plans and drive mitigation actions.
  • Partner with the GM and operations leadership to implement performance measurement systems, including ATS scorecards.
  • Identify cost‑savings and efficiency opportunities across manufacturing, supply chain, and operations.
  • Support Capex planning, departmental rate setting, and timely actual vs. plan reporting.
  • Support negotiations with customers, vendors, and financial partners as required.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  • Conduct risk assessments related to business interruption, cyber security, legal exposure, and market disruptions.
  • Collaborate with IT to ensure data protection and system recovery readiness.
  • Facilitate training and practice drills for business recovery and continuity planning.
  • Ensure compliance with all ATS HSE policies and procedures.
  • Actively promote a safe work environment and a “duty to act” culture.
  • Participate in safety audits, incident investigations, and corrective action planning.
  • Ensure appropriate PPE usage, training completion, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Support Joint Health & Safety Committee initiatives and workplace sanitation standards.
