About The Position

STRUCTURAL integrates technology-driven solutions with specialty contracting services to improve, protect, and enhance the existing infrastructure of owners directly, and in partnership with designers and contractors. STRUCTURAL offers a wide range of specialty repair and maintenance services and is the largest concrete repair contractor in the United States, with roughly 2,500 employees working from locations nationwide and in select international markets. STRUCTURAL is the open-shop contracting business line of Structural Group. We are currently seeking a Division Manager to provide strategic leadership and operational direction for our San Diego, CA region. This role carries full operational and financial responsibility for the division and plays a critical role in driving growth, profitability, safety, and team development. As Division Manager, you will lead all aspects of divisional operations, including safety, financial performance, business development, project execution, staffing, and culture. You will set the vision for the division and ensure execution aligns with company strategy and values. This position requires approximately 50% travel to active and prospective jobsites within San Diego metro area.

Requirements

  • 10–15+ years of construction industry experience, including: Division/business unit leadership or Managing multiple projects as a Project Manager
  • Minimum 10 years of people management experience
  • Prior Profit & Loss responsibility
  • Demonstrated expertise in construction contracts, claims management, and dispute resolution
  • Proven experience in concrete repair and structural strengthening projects
  • Successful history of negotiating contracts directly with clients while protecting company interests, including intellectual property
  • Strong track record of leading, mentoring, and developing teams
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety excellence
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • Ability to travel approximately 50%

Responsibilities

  • Analyze business and market trends to guide strategic planning and ensure year-over-year revenue growth.
  • Evaluate upcoming opportunities and prioritize bidding efforts.
  • Identify and develop relationships with key clients.
  • Collaborate with Branch Directors and executive leadership to establish operational business strategies.
  • Prepare the division for changes in volume, work mix, and market conditions.
  • Maintain full Profit & Loss accountability for the division.
  • Review financial status of all projects regularly, ensuring long-term profitability.
  • Monitor and facilitate cash flow and collections.
  • Prepare and review budgets; evaluate production rates against actual performance.
  • Review and approve divisional bids prior to submission.
  • Provide proactive leadership to maintain the highest quality standards on every project.
  • Assist project teams with: Contract review and negotiation Change orders and subcontractor agreements Billings and as-builts Budget management and purchasing Production tracking and manpower planning Schedule development and operational planning Claims management and dispute resolution Quality control and client communication
  • Visit active and prospective jobsites to oversee implementation and support sales efforts.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop project teams.
  • Partner with recruiting to attract and build high-performing teams.
  • Manage cross-functional collaboration across Engineering, Construction, Sales, and Estimating.
  • Promote and model a 24/7 Safety Culture in all activities.
