About The Position

A Brief Overview This position is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service to customers, referral sources and internal departments. It involves assisting patients and referral sources through the intake and insurance verification processes with care and accuracy. Additionally, the role includes performing data entry, completing necessary paperwork and selecting appropriate items to meet customer needs. Responsibilities extend to assisting with equipment and supply requirements, which includes fitting, delivery, set-up, education, and ongoing follow-up.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
  • Driver's License Required
  • 1-3 years Customer Service experience Required
  • 1-3 years Basic computer experience Required
  • Customer and Personal Service: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Active Listening: Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Reading Comprehension: Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
  • Instructing: Teaching others how to do something.
  • Speaking: Talking to others to convey information effectively.
  • Written Expression: The ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.
  • Rotating call requires the ability to respond to calls afterhours for one week at a time.
  • Service area is within a 60-mile radius of Burlington, Iowa.

  • Preferred knowledge in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers, referral sources and support internal departments.
  • Fit patients with products including specialty lines (ex. shoes, hosiery, bras, braces, etc.)
  • Assist patients and referral sources with the intake process and insurance verification.
  • Recommend potential products or services by collecting patient information and analyzing customer needs.
  • Complete retail sales with application of suggestive selling.
  • Operate computer software and utilize various communication methods.
  • Performs data entry and completes proper documentation.
  • Reviews medical documentation to determine insurance coverage.
  • Communicates patient's needs and problems to appropriate disciplines and/or departments in the organization.
  • Assists customers/family members with equipment needs including delivery, education, set-up, follow up and troubleshooting issues as they may arise.
