About The Position

Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Technician Make a Difference in Patient Care At North Arkansas Regional Medical Center (NARMC), we’re dedicated to providing safe, compassionate, and comprehensive healthcare services to our community. As a DME Technician, you’ll help patients live safely at home by delivering, setting up, and teaching the use of medical equipment that directly impacts their recovery and independence. Job Summary The DME Technician delivers and installs durable medical equipment, provides patient and caregiver training, and ensures regulatory compliance with safety standards. This role supports both patient well-being and the hospital’s mission by ensuring equipment is safe, functional, and accessible.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. independently and up to 150 lbs. with assistance.
  • Basic mechanical and technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong organization, communication, and customer service abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in healthcare, durable medical equipment, or related delivery services.
  • Proficiency with computers, mobile devices, and electronic documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver and set up medical equipment such as wheelchairs, oxygen, and hospital beds.
  • Train patients and caregivers on safe equipment use and maintenance.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and perform minor repairs on equipment.
  • Maintain accurate delivery records, inventory tracking, and compliance with recalls.
  • Ensure equipment and vehicle safety standards are met.
  • Provide professional, compassionate service to patients and families.
  • Participate in inspections, training, and performance improvement activities.
