Lewis Bakeries Inc. has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time Zone Worker working in the Edwardsville, IL area. ABOUT LEWIS BAKERIES Lewis Bakeries is a family owned and operated company that was started by three brothers in 1925 in Anna, Illinois. Lewis primarily bakes loaf bread, buns and rolls under branded products such as Bunny Bread, Lewis Bake Shop, Healthy Life, as well as other brands. Bakery facilities are located in LaPorte, Ft. Wayne, Vincennes, and Evansville, Indiana, and Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Our heritage has been one of quality and reliability since 1925. JOB SUMMARY The Zone Worker supports the overall success of the Shipping Department by accurately sorting products for customer orders and loading shipments onto transportation vehicles. This position plays an important role in maintaining efficient shipping operations and adhering to company safety, quality, and BSCI standards. SCHEDULE AND SHIFT This position may be assigned to various schedules and shifts based on operational needs; however, the general shift hours are early morning to afternoon hours. Work schedules, shift assignments, overtime, and days worked are subject to business requirements and governed by the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement PAY AND BENEFITS This is a bargaining unit position. Wages, premiums, and other compensation are determined in accordance with the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement. Benefits are provided pursuant to the Collective Bargaining Agreement and may include health insurance, paid time off, holidays, and retirement benefits. RESPONSIBILITIES Review invoices and shipping documentation to determine products to be loaded for distribution. Sort and distribute products throughout designated zones in a timely and efficient manner. Load and unload orders on and off semi-trailers using dollies and two-wheel hand trucks. Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and guidelines. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Provide coverage in other shipping areas during break periods or as operationally needed. Perform other related duties as assigned. Requirements

Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to operate basic computerized systems.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively, and perform basic arithmetic.
Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and safe material-handling practices.
Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly.
Ability to climb stairs and ladders as required.
Physical requirements include climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, bending, twisting, talking, and hearing.
Must maintain a high level of safety awareness, including proper lifting techniques and attentiveness to moving equipment, materials, and personnel.
