About The Position

With continual growth comes opportunity and Sargent has an immediate opening for a Document Control Specialist II . Position Summary The Document Control Specialist II is responsible for input, quality, and maintenance of Sargent’s drawings, documents, and records in accordance with Sargent’s Quality Management System and/or customer requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma (GED), plus two years of related experience in a clerical position; or equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable work knowledge and abilities have been acquired.
  • MS Office proficiency, including basic office equipment (printer, scanner, copier, etc.).
  • Knowledge of modern office procedures and etiquette.
  • Working knowledge of English usage, grammar, punctuation, and formatting business documents.
  • Ability to exercise good judgement and initiative within scope of responsibilities.
  • Moderately complex typing and word processing skills.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Engineering, Manufacturing, and/or Quality documents.
  • Experience with Aerospace or Marine products.
  • Experience with data entry, and/or ERP/MRP/PLM systems.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety is the foundation of daily work through vigilance and accountability.
  • Sort and organize printed documentation for preparation to scan and data entry into Sargent’s system.
  • Read drawings, work orders, procedures, and reports for data entry into Sargent computer systems.
  • Prepare and scan drawings and documents for upload into OnBase.
  • Complete audits of work completed within the department.
  • Coordinate activities with outside vendors.
  • Ability to ensure that commitments to both internal and external customers are met by following up on requests.
  • Able to communicate issues clearly both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to function in a team environment by establishing cooperative working relationships with peers and co-workers.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
  • Create/Update Desktop Procedures used within the department.
  • Record Retention management – Purging documents that are no longer required.
  • Lead the department for projects and priority tasks.
