About The Position

The Engineering Services Document Control Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining engineering documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance, and accessibility across systems such as D365 and Bluestar PLM (replacing PDM Vault). This role supports engineering teams by relieving them of administrative overhead, ensuring documentation integrity, and enabling efficient collaboration across global teams.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in document control or engineering support roles, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering services environment.
  • Proficiency with document management systems such as D365 and Bluestar PLM.
  • Hands-on experience with SolidWorks, including Electrical, Tube and Routing, and Toolbox libraries.
  • Strong understanding of engineering change processes and BOM structures.
  • Experience with change control processes.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with Bluestar PLM.
  • Previous experience with D365 Finance & Operations.
  • Experience in contract manufacturing environments.
  • Experience working within engineering-to-order (ETO) companies.

Responsibilities

  • Release engineering documents and Bills of Materials (BOMs) in D365 and Bluestar PLM, ensuring they meet Heller requirements and manufacturability standards.
  • Check documents for completeness and compliance with internal standards and industry regulations.
  • Maintain a single source of truth for all documents to prevent versioning conflicts and outdated usage.
  • Maintain and organize the CAD library for SolidWorks Electrical, Tube and Routing components, and SolidWorks Toolbox, ensuring standardization, usability, and accessibility.
  • Capture documentation issues for root cause analysis and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Educate team members on document control procedures and assist with onboarding and adaptation to new systems.
  • Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and IT teams to streamline document workflows and reduce licensing costs through centralized control.
  • Prepare reports and audits to identify inconsistencies and measure performance against KPIs.
