Domestic Violence Shelter Staff
About The Position
Position Summary: The Domestic Violence Shelter Staff will provide day-to-day management of the shelter including daily living scheduling, oversight of donations and food shopping when Shelter Manager is offsite. Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain and enforce program guidelines to provide a safe and supportive environment where victims can heal Complete initial intake with residents upon entry to the emergency shelter Orient new residents to the program and facility Complete bed bug protocol with new residents Ensure facilities are ready for new residents and all needs are met to include any supplies required Address any needs of residents Answer hotline calls Conducts Room checks as needed to ensure residents are not in possession of contraband Enforces rules and regulations of the residence Monitor facility and report repairs as needed Assist in skill building activities Provide ongoing information during staffing regarding individual issues and concerns Maintain a supportive, professional relationship with all staff and volunteers Oversight of volunteers when working at the shelter facility Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- The Shelter Manager will have a minimum High School Diploma, with some college preferred.
- Knowledge of the dynamics of domestic violence, non-profit or shelter settings
- Must have a valid driver's license, driver's insurance and pass all background checks
