About The Position

Under the direction of the Team Leader and Production Team Leader, greet customer/donor and process donation. Major duties include receiving donations, giving receipts, assisting co-workers or donors with lifting items, maintaining stockroom, greeting, and assisting donors/customers.

Requirements

  • Ability to adhere to the organization’s Core Principles.
  • Knowledge of retail and/or stock handling.
  • Ability to listen and follow directions.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service.
  • Ability to react calmly and respond to emergency situations.
  • Knowledge of textile articles related to garment classification (gowns, shirts, pants, etc).
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language
  • Regularly lift and /or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Standing and walking for long periods of time,
  • Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, push, and pull.
  • Sufficient mobility to turn from side to side and the ability to lean and remove items from containers.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic).

Responsibilities

  • Greet each customer with a courteous, friendly and professional attitude; provide prompt, efficient, and accurate customer service at all times.
  • Politely and professionally receive donations from donors and issue donation receipts for articles donated; assist customers with lifting items in and out of their vehicles.
  • Sort donations as they arrive into proper carts or bins and make proper determination as to the quality of donations.
  • Sort and price hard goods (miscel).
  • Keep the production area clean and safe and other store areas as directed.
  • Maintain a well-groomed appearance and appropriate dress code including name badge and vest.
  • Provide general information to customers/donors.
  • Assist processors when needed.
  • Follow Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) procedures and other Public Protection Guidelines.
  • React calmly and respond to emergency situations.
  • Refer all customer/donor complaints to management in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Team Leader.
