Responsible for determining donor eligibility, plasma collection and product processing while maintaining compliance. This is What You’ll Do Ensures total operation is compliant with state and federal regulations (e.g. FDA approved Standard Operating Procedures, OSHA, CLIA, and GMP) to maintain the highest production standards and ensure facility compliance. Maintains high level of customer service and positive donor experience. Maintains cleanliness of work area to ensure a clean and professional environment. Stocks and maintains an orderly work area with sufficient supplies to meet production demands. Maintains Donor Center equipment based on Standard Operating Procedures and applicable manufacturer instructions. Monitor donor conditions, employing techniques to ensure donor comfort, safety, and the quality of plasma product Maintains Donor confidentiality based on company policy. Maintains complete and accurate record keeping per company’s Standard Operating Procedures. Responsible for troubleshooting machine alarms/alerts and perform QCs routinely (defined as daily/monthly) on equipment. Cleans any blood or plasma spills and performs proper procedure for disposition of biohazardous waste. Ensures that donor meets eligibility criteria based on Standard Operating Procedures. Performs donor vitals evaluation per Standard Operations Procedure. Performs finger stick for Microhematocrit and Total Protein determination. Register applicant donors per Standard Operating Procedures. Set-up and prepare all equipment and disposable supplies for venipuncture and plasmapheresis procedures. Disconnects donor after plasmapheresis process is completed. Maintains proper ratio to ensure donor safety and quality of product. Operates the automated plasmapheresis machines including response and evaluation of all machine alarms and alerts, responds to donor adverse events, and documents exceptions. Prompt and sterile collection and storage of plasma product and samples per Standard Operating Procedures. Hands tested and untested product, as well as product with unsuitable test results. Properly organize samples and product in a walk-in storage freezer per Standard Operating Procedures. Prepare product and samples for shipments, per Standard Operating Procedures and federal transportation regulations. Monitor freezer and refrigerator temperatures and immediately inform appropriate personnel if equipment is not functioning properly. Record variance if applicable. Performs other job-related tasks, as assigned.
