About The Position

Planned Parenthood Western Pennsylvania (PPWP) is the local affiliate of the country’s leading sexual and reproductive health care advocate and provider. PPWP operates five health centers located in Allegheny, Westmoreland, and Cambria Counties and provides education and advocacy services throughout western Pennsylvania. The Donor Engagement & Events Manager will work closely and collaboratively with all members of the Development Team to meet the development goals of PPWP. This position is a keystone member of the team and is responsible for successfully leading community events, and managing PPWP ‘s annual fundraising appeals, as well as providing support in donor research and stewardship initiatives. In conjunction with the Vice President of Development and Director of Donor Engagement, the Donor Engagement & Events Manager is responsible for managing PPWP’s Annual Fund and Event fundraising goals and developing strategies to successfully meet these goals. This effort includes designing, conducting, and overseeing each of the following activities:

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Minimum of Three year’s fundraising experience
  • Manage and organize multiple deadline-oriented projects.
  • Produce clear, accurate, and persuasive communications that reflect high attention to detail.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as events require.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement an annual strategy, in collaboration with the Director of Donor Engagement, for cultivating and stewarding grassroots and mid-level donors through social media, events, email, and other innovative techniques that can attract a diverse range of donors.
  • Assist in generating and sending/producing annual mailings including monthly Planniversary, Year-End and Holiday appeal letters.
  • Create, implement, and manage PPWP’s digital campaigns including Pledge A Picketer, Critical Needs Day, and Giving Tuesday online appeals.
  • Conduct both proactive and reactive prospect research and provide profiles for major gift and campaign donors/prospects.
  • Update and maintain information on prospects and donors in the donor database, including relevant newspaper and journal articles, and internet searches as well as entering contact and meeting notes for donors and prospects.
  • Prepare prospect/donor briefing documents for CEO, VP of Development, and Director of Donor Engagement.
  • Participate in Individual Giving strategy meetings with the VP of Development and Director of Donor Engagement as well as PPWP’s fundraising committees.
  • Collaborate with the Donor Database Coordinator to ensure all prospect/donor cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation strategies are entered into the donor database.
  • Manage timely donor acknowledgement and gift acceptance in collaboration with the Donor Database Coordinator and Director of Donor Engagement.
  • Work with the development team and committees to assist with planning, coordinating, and implementing events designed to raise funds for and/or promote awareness of PPWP’s programs and services.
  • Plan, implement and manage quarterly events.
  • Assist the VP of Development with planning PPWP’s Annual Spring Gala.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Development and Director of Donor Engagement on donor House Parties and other cultivation/stewardship events.
  • Assist with program event logistics as requested, including activities such as photography, volunteer management, or communications activities.
  • Lead all pre-event and day-of logistics for PPWP’s special events including tracking RSVPS and attendee communication.
  • Serve as the community contact for third-party fundraising events.
  • Collaborate with the Donor Database Coordinator to ensure all event information related to donor stewardship and cultivation is captured into the donor database.
