About The Position

Riverkeeper’s Donor Experience Manager/Specialist drives donor engagement by developing outreach and engagement strategies for Riverkeeper donors and executing donor-focused events and engagements along the Hudson River, with a particular emphasis on New York City. This role drives cross-team collaboration, streamlining information flow and operational process to ensure alignment and efficiency. They provide executive-level strategic support for Riverkeeper’s Chief Philanthropy Officer and President and play a vital role in advancing stewardship efforts.

Requirements

  • Strong writing and analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information.
  • Proficiency in donor databases (Salesforce or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Comfortable working in a complex, multi-department organization and dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, take initiative, be a self-starter, proactive problem solver, and maintain a high degree of professionalism, diplomacy, and confidentiality.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with leadership, development colleagues, and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Ability to travel throughout the Hudson Valley and New York City.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed briefings and pitch decks for donor meetings in collaboration with other development team members and the executive team.
  • Synthesize complex donor and prospect data into clear, concise reports for leadership.
  • Stay informed on donor interests, philanthropic trends, and institutional priorities to support high-level fundraising efforts.
  • Maintain up-to-date donor records and engagement plans in Salesforce
  • Generates reports and analyzes donor trends to support strategic decision-making at the leadership level.
  • Utilizes data visualization tools to enhance donor reporting and presentation materials.
  • Compiles and organizes key insights, reports, and materials in advance, to prepare leadership for internal and external meetings.
  • Lead the planning and execution of Riverkeeper’s two signature annual fundraisers: a seated gala and a cocktail party, along with a portfolio of other stewardship events throughout the year.
  • Work with board members and key supporters to host regional meetups and small gatherings focused on particular areas of our work.
  • Identify a running list of potential meetup locations and community partners (bars, restaurants, etc.) where the Riverkeeper team can informally gather to meet with members and the public.
  • Manages special projects, as assigned, from inception to completion.
  • Tracks project deliverables and coordinates follow-ups to ensure objectives are met.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.
