Job Summary:

The Drafter II role provides drafting and design support to engineers throughout
the engineering design process. Responsibilities include developing 3D models
using various software platforms, preparing detailed drawings and design
concepts, and compiling project data and documentation. This role works
independently with guidance and support from the drafting team leads, designers,
engineers and project managers to ensure designs meet project requirements and
client needs.

Requirements

• You have an A.S. in Drafting and Design (or equivalent experience)
• You have 4+ years of drafting/design experience working with mechanical and/or structural systems
• You have experience in Autodesk Revit, Plant 3D, Civil 3D, Solidworks and/or AutoCAD
• You have basic knowledge of the engineering design process
• You can provide constructive and efficient quality control reviews to ensure project design standards are met
• You have mechanical/electrical/plumbing (MEP) design experience
• You are experienced in Recap Pro, Cyclone, Scene
• You are familiar with codes and federal/state/local regulations such as the International Building Code, and ASME standards
• Effective interpersonal skills and strong communication (written and verbal)
• Confident and ambitious problem solver
• Creative and innovative with self-directed initiative
• Dependable
• Detail-oriented
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and e-mail applications
• Ability to perform limited engineering design of structural, piping and mechanical systems for sizing, routing, spacing and orienting (preferred but not required)

Responsibilities

• Design industrial mechanical, structural, piping and civil works (plans, details, diagrams, modeling)
• Draft/design support for new construction, renovations, and modification efforts
• Complete 3D modeling of mechanical and structural system or components for coordinating models, analysis and design drawings
• Complete detailed drawings of a variety of industrial facilities projects throughout the US and other countries
• Maintain communication between project managers, engineers, designers and drafters to successfully execute design drawings
