About The Position

Seeking a Drafter for a local growing manufacturing facility. The Drafter is responsible for creating accurate and production ready drawings and models to support the development and manufacturing of products. This Drafter role works closely with engineers, production teams and R&D to translate concepts and sketches into practical, buildable designs. Will produce fully dimensioned 2D drawings and 3D models of fabricated and machined components, assemblies and fixtures, translate engineering sketches, marked up prints or layout concepts and manufacturing documentation. The Drafter will develop and maintain accurate design documentation, including models, drawings and BOM data in accordance with industry and company standards. Will also assist in the creation of customer manuals, installation guides and service illustrations.

Requirements

  • Must have an associates degree or technical certification in Computer Aided Drafting/Design or related field and a minimum of two years experience, preferably with fabricated sheet metal or welded assemblies
  • Be proficient with Autodesk Inventor or similar CAD software.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical design best practices, tolerancing and material selection.
  • This position requires working in an office and production floor environment (temperature and noise level may vary).
  • Frequent interaction with shop floor personnel, including observation of parts, assemblies and prototype installations.
