About The Position

The Drafting Senior Lead serves as the primary coordinator and supervisor for a specialized team of drafters, ensuring that all drawing and documentation deliverables meet quality standards, align with project requirements, and are completed on schedule. This role combines technical drafting expertise with leadership and project management skills to drive efficiency, accuracy, and continuous improvement in the drafting process.

Requirements

Technical Expertise in drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks) and familiarity with relevant standards and codes.
Leadership Skills demonstrated through effective team building, delegation, and performance management.
Project Management capability, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.

Responsibilities

Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to drafters, fostering a supportive and collaborative team environment.
Delegate tasks effectively, balancing workload among team members based on skill level, capacity, and project priorities.
Coordinate with other disciplines (e.g., engineering, design, project management) to integrate and synchronize drafting efforts.
Develop, implement, and maintain drafting standards, procedures, and best practices to ensure high-quality deliverables.
Conduct regular reviews of drawings and documentation to verify accuracy, compliance with project specifications, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
Stay updated on relevant codes, standards, and drafting software advancements, disseminating knowledge to the team.
Work closely with project managers and other stakeholders to identify deliverable timelines, resource needs, and potential risks.
Monitor project progress, adjust priorities as necessary, and communicate changes proactively to ensure on-time delivery.
Prepare regular status reports, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and proposed solutions to ensure transparency and accountability.
Evaluate workflow and drafting processes for efficiency; recommend and implement improvements to maximize productivity.
Encourage the adoption of new tools, techniques, or software enhancements that improve drawing quality or reduce production time.
Promote knowledge-sharing sessions within the drafting squad to build capacity and keep the team at the forefront of industry trends.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to gather input, clarify technical details, and ensure drafting requirements are well-understood.
Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and internal teams, representing the drafting function’s perspectives and needs.
Serve as a point of contact to resolve drafting-related issues, mediating between the squad and external stakeholders as needed.
