About The Position

Operates the Aluminum Wire Draw and the Wire Stranding machines (7 and/or 19), and consistently meets Marmon Utility’s quality and productivity requirements in a safe manner with minimum scrap. Regular Shift (Post-Training) Days: Monday to Thursday Hours: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM Perks: 3-day weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday off

Requirements

  • Understanding of the basic line operation and line components associated with the process.
  • Tools and measuring devices applicable to the industry.
  • Operation of the pay-off and take-up equipment.
  • Internal/industry codes and abbreviations used to identify conductors and wires.
  • Principals of welding
  • Willingness to accept direction and work in a Team structure

Responsibilities

  • Complies with company safety rules at all times during working hours and ensures the safety of himself/herself and others at his/her operating station.
  • Responsible for keeping equipment and work area in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Works in a professional manner, is punctual, and highly dependable.
  • Mechanically sets up both lines, pay-off through take-up operation, including installation of appropriate tooling (dies) and all auxiliary line equipment needed to produce specified gauge sizes of stranded conductor described by the process instructions.
  • Consistently monitors the supply of raw material to ensure a continuous operation.
  • Performs required measurements with company-approved measuring devices to ensure final process meets the required specifications (reference PC 034 and PC 025).
  • Verifies tha he measuring devices are calibrated.
  • Takes corrective action to ensure quality product.
  • Generate product identification tags for finished product and maintains accurate record keeping of all pertinent information required by Marmon Utility, including work center line log.
  • Participates in maintaining ISO certification.
  • Adheres to applicable System Level Procedures (SLP) and Process Controls (PC).
  • Follows production tracking report schedule.
  • Visually inspects all empty take-up reels for proper size, strength, appearance and inside of flanges for foreign material/substance that could cause damage to the finished product produced.
  • Operates the take-up machine and puts up a neat-looking reel free of crossovers/loops and Welds wire to maintain spool-to-spool operation.
