About The Position
PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Driver – CDL A is responsible for transporting product in addition to unloading and loading vehicles in support of the Food Bank.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) - Class A
- Understand DOT and FMCSA regulations
- Working knowledge of Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) and ELD tracking
- Strong verbal and written communication as it relates to the job
- Must be customer-centric for both internal and external customers
- One year of commercial driving experience
Nice To Haves
- Experience with warehouse equipment (rider jack and forklift) preferred
Responsibilities
- Complete DVIR and utilize ELD tracking
- Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations
- Maintain all required certifications by DOT, FMCSA, OSHA and company safety programs
- Maintain and protect all property entrusted to you in excellent condition
- Operate manual and electric pallet jacks to load and off-load freight/products up to 50+ pounds unassisted
- Maintain accurate vehicle and equipment records and logs
- Report vehicle and equipment for proper service in a timely manner to minimize downtime
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
- Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards
- Effectively represent NTFB in the community, as an ambassador of our values and mission
- Perform other tasks and duties as assigned
