About The Position

A Brief Overview Drive Klein Bus to transport residents to medical appointments and various activities in the community. May occasionally carry cargo, transport lab specimens, and interoffice mail. Assist with resident transports internally to and from activity programs.

Requirements

H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) High School graduate or GED, Required
Knowledge of principles and methods for moving people or goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs and benefits.
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.
Knowledge of principles and methods for describing the features of land, sea, and air masses, including their physical characteristics, locations, interrelationships, and distribution of plant, animal, and human life.
Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political process.
Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do.
Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
Controlling operations of equipment or systems.
Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.

Must have valid chauffer's driver's license.

Responsibilities

Report delays or accidents.
Load and unload individuals with wheelchairs.
Secure the wheelchair to the bus prior to departure.
Advise passengers to be seated and orderly while on vehicles.
Drive vehicles over specified routes or to specified destinations according to time schedules in order to transport passengers, complying with traffic regulations.
Load and unload baggage in baggage compartments.
Assist residents to and from activities between appointments.
Transport lab specimens, interoffice mail to main campus with confidentiality.
Park vehicles at loading areas so that passengers can board.
Regulate heating, lighting, and ventilating systems for passenger comfort.
Regular and reliable attendance.
Updates neighborhood calendars.
