About The Position

Where Passion Meets Purpose at Bittersweet Farms Are you a maker, a dreamer, and a natural mentor? Do you believe that art is a universal language? At Bittersweet Farms , we don’t just "provide services"—we create space for individuals with Autism to express themselves, gain independence, and thrive through the power of making. We are looking for a Art Activities Specialist who is as comfortable with a paintbrush or a glue gun as they are with providing empathetic, person-centered support. Why You’ll Love This Role Creative Freedom: You aren't just following a curriculum; you're building it. From nature-based projects to fine motor crafts, you design the daily spark. Holistic Engagement: Your “office” includes the art studio, nature trails for biking/walking, and the local community for outings. Leadership with Heart: You’ll mentor both our participants and new staff, fostering an environment where everyone feels safe to grow. Balance: Enjoy a consistent Monday–Friday, 7:30a–3:30p schedule. No nights, no weekends—just meaningful work that leaves you time for your own creative pursuits. What You’ll Do Lead the Studio: Act as the primary guide for our Crafting Program, tailoring projects to the unique strengths of each participant. Curate Experiences: Develop a vibrant daily schedule that blends art, sensory activities, and aerobic movement (walking/biking). Collaborate: Work alongside other specialists to ensure our participants are engaged in tasks that truly matter to them. Support & Protect: Provide essential direct support, ensuring the health, safety, and dignity of every individual in our care. What You Bring The Experience: 2+ years of experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities/Autism. The Eye: A deep knowledge of art programs and the "self-starter" energy to keep a studio organized and stocked. The Vibe: You are empathetic, patient, and genuinely passionate about helping others unlock their potential. The Basics: High School Diploma/GED, a valid Driver’s License, and the ability to pass a pre-employment physical. The Perks Pay: $17.50 / hour Full Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance. Future-Ready: 401(k) with employer matching. Rest: Paid Time Off and Paid Holidays.
