Each of our ingredients responds to unique and essential needs, and they enable healthier lifestyles. The Role: We are looking for our next E/C Technician within our Maintenance Team. The E/C Technician will be responsible for maintaining and improving the plant’s electrical and control systems, including troubleshooting, installing, and calibrating a variety of control devices and power distribution equipment. The position requires hands-on work with PLCs, DCS systems, VFDs, and instrumentation, supporting both day-to-day operations and long-term process improvements. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical skills, a safety-first mindset, and a desire to grow with evolving plant automation technologies. This position is located in Gurnee, IL The current wage range for this role is estimated to be $40-43/hourly. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation. The specific compensation offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Requirements

  • Two (2) year technical degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in utility or industrial electrical and controls systems
  • Experience with preventative maintenance calibrations and installation of various instrumentations.
  • Demonstrated understanding of 3 phase motor control starters

Responsibilities

  • Supports and adheres to all safety requirements.
  • Responsible for maintenance and improvement of the electrical system within Roquette.
  • Knowledge and understanding of DCS (Distributed Control System) and PLC.
  • Works safely with up to 480-volt equipment on controls portions.
  • Working knowledge of motor starters, VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), control valves, KV valves, BMS (Burner Management Systems), meters, switches, transmitters, and other control-related devices.
  • Performs in-depth testing and validation of control devices using a volt-ohmmeter, megger, amp meter, 475 field communicator, and other test and configuration equipment.
  • Assists in minimizing inventory costs through standardization and reducing unnecessary stock.
  • Assists in the selection of the most reliable hardware and wiring methods.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
