Foley & Lardner is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented E-Discovery Project Manager to join our litigation support team. This individual will play a critical role in managing all phases of the electronic discovery lifecycle across complex, high stakes matters. The ideal candidate brings deep experience working within large law firm (BigLaw) environments, a strong command of Relativity and its advanced analytics tools, and the ability to collaborate seamlessly with attorneys, clients, and vendors. In this role you will demonstrate practical knowledge in configuring, deploying, and evaluating AI-assisted tools within the Relativity ecosystem. Demonstrated track record of managing complex, multi-party litigation matters involving large data volumes is essential. This position will support both local and national litigation teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; a Juris Doctor (JD), paralegal certificate, or advanced degree in a related field is preferred.
  • A current Relativity Certified Administrator (RCA) certification is required. Additional Relativity certifications, such as Relativity Certified User (RCU) or Relativity Analytics Specialist, are highly valued.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of increasing responsibility in e-discovery project management, with a substantial portion of that experience gained within a large law firm (BigLaw) environment.
  • Must possess expert-level proficiency in the Relativity platform, including workspace setup and administration, search functionality, review coding layouts, productions, and analytics features such as clustering, email threading, and conceptual indexing. Experience with Relativity’s suite of aiR products including aiR for Review, aiR for Privilege, and aiR for Case Strategy strongly preferred.
  • Significant experience designing, implementing, and managing Technology Assisted Review (TAR) workflows is essential. This includes familiarity with TAR 2.0 / Continuous Active Learning (CAL) methodologies, as well as the ability to articulate and defend TAR processes and statistically relevant validation measures—such as recall, precision, F1 score, elusion rate, richness/prevalence, confidence intervals, and margins of error—in the context of litigation.
  • Experience with data privacy and cross-border discovery issues, including compliance with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and similar regulations, is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full scope of e-discovery workflows, from preservation and collection through processing, review, and production. This includes developing and executing project plans, managing timelines and budgets, and ensuring that all work is completed in accordance with applicable legal standards, court rules, and client guidelines.
  • Collaborate with litigation teams to design and implement Technology Assisted Review (TAR) and other AI‑driven review workflows.
  • Leverage Relativity aiR for Review to enhance document review efficiency by integrating AI-powered review capabilities into existing workflows, evaluating the suitability of aiR for Review on a matter-by-matter basis, configuring and monitoring its deployment, and providing reporting on its performance and impact.
  • Advise attorneys on best practices for defensible deployment of AI tools, assist in drafting related protocols for submission to courts, maintain a firm grasp of relevant validation statistics, and oversee quality control and validation of AI-assisted review results.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for all e-discovery-related communications, opposing counsel, and clients. This includes advising at meet-and-confer discussions on ESI issues, and ensuring compliance with ESI protocols and protective orders.
  • Additional responsibilities include developing and maintaining project documentation, preparing status reports and metrics for stakeholders, conducting quality assurance checks on all data deliverables, and mentoring junior team members on e-discovery best practices and technology platforms.
