Within KIUSD, the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR) umbrella trust fund is a global partnership that helps low- and middle-income countries better understand and reduce their vulnerability to natural hazards and climate change. GFDRR supports analytics and technical assistance to governments in the most vulnerable countries and communities where it will have the greatest positive impact. For more information: https://www.gfdrr.org/en Job Duties and Responsibilities: The E T Consultant will support implementation of flood risk management activities and programming. Tasks include coordinating and leading operational expert support on flood risk management to Task Teams and World Bank clients (advice on technical studies for project design and implementation, joining field missions and virtual meetings with client governments). The E T Consultant will work the Disaster Risk Analytics team and the City Resilience Program and will also be expected to contribute or lead knowledge products related to climate risk and flood risk management under other GFDRR Global Technical Programs where relevant. The E T Consultant will work closely with the Task Team Leaders and core staff of the Global Unit for Disaster and Climate Risk Management, under managerial supervision of the Manager, Disaster Management, Solutions & Impact:
