About The Position

The Des Plaines Park District, established in 1919, features more than 50 parks and facilities. As an Illinois Distinguished Accredited Agency, we service a culturally diverse and growing community with hundreds of affordable recreational and educational programs, classes, and events for kids, teens, adults, and families each season. Pool maintenance staff will ensure the cleanliness of the Aquatic Facility and work to keep them fully functional throughout the seasons.

Requirements

• Less than High School.
• Related experience preferred
• Driver’s License preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform daily maintenance and cleaning at swimming pools and Aquatic Facilities.
• Perform cleaning of locker rooms, restrooms, and concession areas associated with swimming pools.
• Vacuum bottom of swimming pools.
• Clean and pressure wash pool deck areas.
• Pick-up debris and empty garbage cans.
• Perform safety inspections and observation of pool areas.
• Assist administrative staff with special maintenance requests.
• May be required to perform overtime work as requested or required, including weekends.
• Assist patrons with providing information as requested.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Park District Safety and Crisis Manuals
• Coordinates activities to successfully collaborate with district staff performing maintenance in the same area.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
