About The Position

WSP is currently initiating a search for an Early Career Overhead Transmission Line Design Engineer for our Freeport, ME office. Be involved in projects with our Power Delivery Freeport Line Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients’ objectives and solves their challenges. This Opportunity The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of transmission line design for new lines, relocations, upgrades, and fiber optic additions. Requirements

  • BSCE (Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering) degree from an accredited university
  • The candidate must have a strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel
  • Experience using the Microsoft Office software suite
  • 0-1 years of experience
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
  • Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
  • Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Engineer in Training Certification.
  • Minimum 2.75 Grade Point Average (GPA)
  • Ideal coursework includes structural analysis, concrete design, steel design, soil mechanics, foundation design, and surveying
  • Previous engineering design or drafting work experience, especially if related to civil and/or structural engineering, is desirable

Responsibilities

  • Complete training on assigned tasks.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
