About The Position

Assist the Program Director with the implementation of the Nevada Ready! State Pre-K Program and related early education programs for United Way of Southern Nevada's Community Impact initiatives. The Early Education Program Manager is also responsible for supervising the Early Education Program Specialist, and is expected to create a customer-focused service approach that builds relationships and develops high-quality early education programs with measurable results. The Manager is responsible for providing training, technical assistance, coaching, and support to ensure all participating centers meet program and funding requirements.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of early childhood education, childcare standards, K- 12 standards and/or best practices in the education continuum.

  • Valid Nevada Driver's license, proof of auto insurance coverage and daily access to a personal vehicle for site visits, meetings and projects.
  • These requirements are met by a bachelor's degree in Early Education or a related field or active educational plan, and a minimum of four years of experience working (or two years managing a team) in an early childhood setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Prior CLASS/ECERS/SPED skills and nonprofit experience is preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manages day-to-day and week-to-week activities and assignments and ensures completion of timely reports and work products.
  • Plans scopes of work with community partners and manages Early Education team to ensure program goals and objectives are met by required deadlines.
  • Creates and edits a variety of written documents, correspondence, speeches and reports.
  • Responsible for planning, managing and implementation of high-quality Early Education programs in a variety of settings within Southern Nevada (i.e. center-based, home-based, etc.)
  • Works with clients to engage and support input into projects and events.
  • Develops and facilitates trainings to directors, teachers, and staff to incorporate best practices for Early Education partners.
  • Interacts and works with Early Education community partners to build collaboration and improve service delivery systems.
  • Adapts program content, materials and locations to meet the identified needs of participants.
  • Provides accurate and timely data collection/input and reports to meet funding requirements in the following areas: professional development, curriculum, program evaluation, individualized support, school readiness, transition to Kindergarten, health and safety, family engagement, and comprehensive services for families.
  • Tracks and monitors performance measures and goals of the program providers.
  • Maintains current knowledge base of policies, standards and issues affecting the childcare and early childhood education industries, and K - 12 education standards and policies on the local and national levels.
  • Researches and stays up to date on best practices related to Early Childhood Education.
  • Provides presentations at local and national conference and workshops if needed.
  • Directs and facilitates the work of independent contractors and other project participants to develop plans and projects
  • Other duties as requested or assigned.
