About The Position

Are you passionate about helping young children find their voice and build the foundation for lifelong communication? The Arc of the Ozarks is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our specialized diagnostic team supporting children ages 2–3 who have no functional communication and little to no previous therapy experience. About the Role: This role is part of our intensive early intervention program, designed to assess and develop foundational communication skills in toddlers. You’ll work alongside a multidisciplinary team to complete observations and assessments (including ADOS when appropriate), incorporate play-based therapy, and build structured yet natural language opportunities throughout each session. The ability to assess through engagement and play is essential. Training in ADOS (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule) is highly preferred, but we are happy to provide training for the right candidate.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA preferred. Clinical Fellowships may be considered.
  • Missouri SLP License in good standing (MO Board of Healing Arts)
  • Strong play-based assessment skills, comfort working with nonverbal or pre-verbal toddlers, collaborative spirit

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with early intervention or ADOS training (we will provide if not yet trained)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct dynamic observations and structured assessments to inform individualized treatment plans.
  • Incorporate play-based strategies to assess and support early communication and language development.
  • Design and implement therapy goals that focus on foundational language acquisition, joint attention, imitation, and early social communication.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver coordinated and individualized care.
  • Provide parent coaching and feedback to support carryover and generalization of skills at home.
  • Complete timely, accurate documentation in alignment with best practices and organizational standards.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training specific to early intervention and diagnostics.
