About The Position

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. ? Fosters student’s understanding of God’s role in their lives and Christ’s relationship to each student. ? Under the auspices of the Office of Catholic Schools and the local parish, oversees and maintains a safe, faith-based learning environment. ? Ensures that a high level of developmentally appropriate practices is implemented. ? Monitors the implementation of standards, curriculum, and assessment. ? Conducts teacher observations and evaluations. ? Conducts marketing activities on behalf of the Center including conducting tours for prospective parents. ? Provides professional development for Center staff. ? Assists teachers with the weekly development and execution of lesson plans and program activities. ? Manages and monitors all finances of the Center according to Diocesan and local parish polices. ? Ensures that all licensing and accreditation requirements are met. ? Oversees the maintenance of all Center facilities and programs to ensure compliance with established standards of excellence and risk management/safety policies of the state, county, Diocese and parish. ? Promotes the success of all children by effectively communicating and collaborating with the pastor, families, stakeholders, and Diocese. ? Fulfills legal and contractual obligations.

Requirements

  • The successful candidate will be a Catholic in good standing
  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education with at least 18 hours in Early Childhood from an accredited college or university
  • Have Staff Director Credentials from the Department of Children and Families
  • Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills are required, with a demonstrated ability to effectively deal with various personalities.
  • Ability to read and write routine correspondence to both external and internal parties
  • Present information in group settings and facilitate effective and edifying group discussion.
  • Ability to lift at least 15 pounds.
  • Physical demands include balancing, carrying, crouching, feeling, fingering, grasping, hearing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, sitting, standing, reaching, stooping, talking and walking.
  • Also includes the ability to see items close.

Nice To Haves

  • VPK Director Credential preferred.
  • Related experience in a similar position is also preferred.
