As an EB (Electron Beam) Welder Operator at RAM, you’ll perform highly specialized welding on a variety of exotic metals used in mission-critical aerospace components. Working from both general and detailed instructions, you’ll use advanced EB welding techniques to join precision parts with exceptional accuracy and minimal heat distortion. In this role, you will also support critical pre-weld preparation, collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot issues, and help develop cutting-edge new welding processes. Your craftsmanship and attention to detail will directly contribute to the performance, safety, and reliability of components used in flight, space, and defense applications.

Requirements

• Legal: Must be able to pass a comprehensive criminal background check and drug screening.
• ITAR: Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum (due to ITAR requirements).
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience & Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge and experience in troubleshooting safety, quality, and technical issues. Prior experience in a repetitive manufacturing or production environment is required. (Note: Direct experience with EB welding is highly preferred, but experience with precision aerospace TIG welding or CNC machine operation is strongly considered).
• Technical Skills: Basic math skills are required to calculate machine parameters, read measurements, and follow precise engineering instructions.
• Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must possess the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while remaining a strong, collaborative team player.
• Physical Demands: Must be able to stand for long periods of time constantly throughout the shift. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs safely. Must possess excellent manual dexterity for handling small parts, aligning fixtures, and operating machine controls.

Nice To Haves

• Direct experience with EB welding is highly preferred, but experience with precision aerospace TIG welding or CNC machine operation is strongly considered

Responsibilities

• EB Welding Operations: Set up and operate advanced Electron Beam welding equipment to join precision aerospace components. You will follow detailed specifications to ensure welds are executed with exceptional accuracy.
• Pre-Weld Preparation: Perform critical pre-weld tasks including the meticulous cleaning of components, precision fixturing, and tack welding to ensure exact alignment before the parts enter the vacuum chamber.
• Process Development & Troubleshooting: Collaborate directly with engineering and quality assurance teams to troubleshoot technical issues, refine welding parameters, and assist in the development of new, highly efficient welding processes.
• Production & Quality: Work efficiently within a fast-paced, repetitive production environment. You must balance the need to meet strict production schedules with uncompromising aerospace quality and cost requirements.
• Team Collaboration: Function as a proactive team player, communicating effectively with co-workers and cross-functional teams to resolve safety, quality, or technical concerns on the shop floor.
