About The Position

Ecology Technician - Colleton River Club Colleton River Club is seeking a dependable and motivated Ecology Technician to join our Ecology team. This role plays a key part in keeping our community clean, organized, and running smoothly. The Ecology Technician will serve as a primary vehicle operator, take ownership of daily trash collection routes, and assume additional responsibility within the department. Position Overview This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their work, and is comfortable operating vehicles and light equipment. The ideal candidate has a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and the ability to lead by example.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license in good standing (CDL Certification not required)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to operate trucks and light motorized equipment
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to comprehend and learn tasks associated with ecology services
  • Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills
  • Occasional sitting
  • Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping, and pulling (up to 50 lbs)
  • Continuous standing, walking, and repetitive actions
  • Exposure to loud noise levels and chemicals
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Nice To Haves

  • Ecology or similar service experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Operate Ecology truck (Mack M07 11CY) or stake body truck (Chevy 2500) safely and efficiently
  • Collection of household trash and recycling from member's service yards
  • Operate compactor and cardboard baler
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment in vehicles and on the club recycling pad
  • Monitor basic equipment maintenance and report issues to Supervisors or Mechanics
  • Assist other departments (such as Community Grounds) once Ecology responsibilities are completed, within the normal work schedule
  • Follow all safety procedures and department protocols
  • Trash service (Monday & Thursday)
  • Recycling service (Tuesday & Wednesday)
  • Landscape debris pickup (Wednesday)
  • Dump Ecology Service truck at landfill (Wednesday & Friday)
  • Fulfill special requests for additional Ecology service from Members
  • Cardboard baler (Nicklaus Maintenance and Nicklaus Clubhouse)
  • Pallet Collection (Nicklaus and Dye Clubhouses)
