Position Overview We are seeking a talented and innovative Art Director, Ecommerce to join our Brand & Creative Team, reporting to the Director of Brand & Creative. This role will lead digital designer(s) while developing forward-thinking strategies and design solutions that grow the GOVMINT brand. The ideal candidate brings a strong design portfolio, a great eye for photography, and a passion for photo art direction and the photography process, paired with a modern design aesthetic and deep experience creating high-performing ecommerce experiences and modern websites. This leader thinks in scalable design systems and component libraries, understands the value of reusable content to drive efficiency and growth, and applies an agile, growth-minded approach to the work. With strong ecommerce understanding and business acumen, the Art Director will create compelling visual content and cohesive digital experiences that elevate our brand and engage our audience across platforms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Digital Media, or related field required.
  • 6-8 years of professional experience in design and art direction, including 1-3 years managing direct reports.
  • 4-6 years of photo art direction experience, including planning, shot list development, mood boards, prop styling/sourcing, and on-set direction.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating modern design sensibility across ecommerce websites, email marketing, social, paid and photo art direction.
  • Refined expertise in developing scalable digital design systems for websites and email, including robust template frameworks, component libraries, and centralized asset libraries.
  • Demonstrated ability to think in integrated campaigns with a strategic, reusable content mindset that supports scalability and long-term brand growth.
  • Expert proficiency in Figma and UI design for Ecommerce websites; high proficiency in Adobe CC Photoshop, Illustrator, knowledge of InDesign a plus.
  • Strong understanding of UX/user-centered design, testing, and ecommerce platforms; knowledge of Magento Page Builder a plus.
  • Understanding of creative technology and AI to drive efficiency, speed, and personalization.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and cross-functional leadership skills, with strong project management and organizational abilities.
  • Adaptable, detail-oriented problem solver capable of managing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Monday.com and Microsoft Office a plus.
  • Previous experience in aspirational niche, luxury or collectible markets preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage digital designer(s), providing creative vision and hands-on direction to evolve and maintain the GOVMINT brand across all ecommerce touchpoints.
  • Develop cohesive, high-performing ecommerce design solutions across the customer journey, including website, email, social, and performance marketing channels using Figma and Adobe CC.
  • Drive integrated ecommerce campaign continuity and theme development with clear calls to action that support both brand and sales growth.
  • Ensure consistent execution through strong brand governance, modern design systems, simple and scalable templates, and reusable asset libraries.
  • Create intuitive, user-centered digital experiences that enhance usability, engagement, and conversion.
  • Lead digital photo direction for Ecommerce-from shot list planning to on-set styling-ensuring compelling, on-brand visual storytelling optimized for digital platforms.
  • Provide video art direction when needed.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Ecommerce Marketing, Merchandising, Product/UX, and other stakeholders to align creative output with business goals.
  • Champion modern, scalable design thinking and continuously evolve brand standards to keep GOVMINT visually differentiated and competitive.
  • Leverage AI and emerging technologies to increase efficiency, streamline workflows, and enable scalable, personalized digital content.
  • Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, incorporating feedback efficiently while maintaining high-quality execution.
  • Maintain organized digital asset management practices and standardized workflows to support speed, clarity, and cross-team productivity.
  • Stay current on design trends, tools, and best practices, continually introducing fresh ideas and innovation to the team.
