About The Position

Meta designs, builds, leases and operates the most innovative and efficient data centers in the world. Developing, operating and managing the data center infrastructure and facilities the "right" way is synonymous with ensuring high uptime, capacity availability, flexibility and capital and operational cost efficiency in a safe, healthy working environment. This role will help impact where we site new AI data center regions in the future. It will provide the ability to learn a new discipline; participate in negotiations, complete diligence on state and local taxes, partner with larger infrastructure organization. This role will be responsible for driving economic development programmatic activities, including incentive compliance, risk assessment, incentive diligence and negotiations. This role will drive projects by working closely with cross functional partners to execute strategic economic development activities across the life cycle of site selection efforts

Requirements

  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in a directly related field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta
  • 3+ years experience, background in SALT (state and local tax)
  • Experience in state and local taxes, economic incentives, finance or other corporate compliance related discipline
  • Experience building financial or tax models
  • Experienced in coordinating both internal staff and consultants
  • Experience using Excel/PowerPoint and Google Docs/Sheets

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and optimize data center incentive compliance program for global portfolio of data center assets (50%)
  • Interface with internal organizations including data center design, construction, legal, payroll, finance, accounting and tax
  • Gather and analyze investment and employment related data to drive decisions for future site selection efforts and complete compliance obligations for existing regions
  • Build and maintain cost models that compare taxes and economic incentives in new and existing data center regions (25%)
  • Complete diligence relating to economic development programs as well as state and local tax laws for new and existing data center regions (15%)
  • Partner with economic development managers to prepare internal and external summary materials needed for ongoing site selection efforts (10%)
