Garnet Health System provides a compensation range to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits. When determining a team member’s compensation and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).

Requirements

  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; Ability to communicate with patients, visitors and staff both orally and in writing.
  • Minimum Experience: Previous experience as Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant or similar:
  • Assists with toileting i.e. bedpan, commodes, urinals, incontinence care.
  • Proper body mechanics for transfers/ambulation.
  • Vital signs.
  • Completion of phlebotomy course;
  • with at least 120 hours of clinical rotation in a medical arena OR
  • 75 hours of clinical rotation in a medical arena with one (1) year healthcare experience required OR
  • Five (5) years of continuous phlebotomy experience
  • OR
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Program
  • Required Certification/Registration: National Phlebotomy Certification required within 6 months or National Medical Assistant certification required within 6 months.
  • Completion of AHA – BLS Healthcare Provider Course – Current and On-going;
  • Successful completion of Orientation program including classroom and clinical components; Must attend hospital crisis training program within 3 months of hire or transfer and annually thereafter.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care to a specific group of patients under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
