About The Position

This is a freelance, contract-based role and is not a full-time employment opportunity. This position is responsible for editing short-form and long-form content for broadcast and digital platforms.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED; college degree in film, broadcast, production, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience editing both short-form and long-form projects for broadcast television.
  • Must have a strong grasp of the latest editing techniques and visual trends.
  • Must be proficient in HD Workflow, Adobe Premier, Avid Media Composer, Final Cut Studio Suite, After Effects, and Photoshop.
  • Strong technical knowledge and ability to troubleshoot software issues.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, in both English and Spanish.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail is necessary.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with tight deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidential information.
  • Working knowledge of office computer programs on both Mac and PC workstations.
  • Experience in a sports environment preferred; MMA knowledge is a plus.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in motion graphics, 3D modeling and animation is a plus.
  • Experience working for an agency, post-production company, or broadcast creative team is a plus.
  • Experience in a sports environment preferred; MMA knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Edits a variety of short-form content including features, highlights, and promotional elements.
  • Writes and edits Spanish-specific promos for live events and engagement events such as UFC in Mexico
  • Assists with editing of original, long-form shows including UFC Origenes and UFC Conectado.
  • Oversees elements produced for live Spanish productions, ensuring all translations are accurate and that the elements are delivered properly for production.
  • Assists with versioning shows and promos from English to Spanish.
  • Travels to events as needed to collaborate with onsite event crew and external production vendors.
  • Other tasks, projects, and duties as assigned.
