About The Position

The Alberta Mortgage Brokers Association (AMBA) seeks an Education Coordinator to join our high performing, dynamic team. This key customer service role provides support and guidance to students, ensuring a positive and professional experience. It requires a high level of interpersonal skills, patience, and problem-solving abilities to manage inquiries, resolve conflicts, and de-escalate challenging situations. The ideal candidate is a proactive communicator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about student success. Reporting to the Manager of Education, this role provides comprehensive administrative support for AMBA’s pre-licensing education program(s), professional development initiatives, and student services.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree or college diploma
  • Intermediate proficiency with a variety of systems, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, SharePoint, CRM software, and Learning Management Systems.
  • Proven ability to handle difficult conversations, de-escalate tense situations, and confidently communicate when a customer request cannot be accommodated.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a high-volume environment.
  • A bright, friendly, and approachable personality, with the ability to build positive relationships and create a welcoming experience for students and colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for student inquiries via phone, email, and in person.
  • Provide accurate and timely information about programs, policies, and services.
  • Handle challenging phone calls with professionalism and employ effective de-escalation strategies.
  • Assess student concerns and escalate issues to the appropriate departments when necessary.
  • Assist students with registration, enrollment, and administrative processes.
  • Maintain accurate student records and documentation in compliance with policies.
  • Participate in student engagement initiatives, including orientations, virtual sessions, and events.
  • Identify areas for improvement in service delivery and recommend enhancements to processes.
  • Facilitate weekly virtual information sessions to engage and inform current and prospective students.
  • Support the management and maintenance of assessment content within the Learning Management System
  • Support the research, development, and creation of supplementary materials to enhance learning and program effectiveness
  • Generate and analyze student data reports to provide insightful information for professional development
  • Assist the Education Manager in the organization and facilitation of professional development events, including but not limited to virtual sessions and Lunch & Learn programs
  • Maintain and update a database of professional development topics and speakers to ensure ongoing relevance.
  • Assist with departmental activities and provide support where necessary
  • Participate in event meetings as needed
  • Provide event prep and onsite event assistance whenever required
  • Collaborate with the Events team on setting and meeting specific deadlines for each event
  • Be point of contact for students at events when needed
  • Assist with coordinating the student awards program
  • Assist with sending students event promotion communication
  • Support day–to-day office operations by helping with various tasks as needed.
