What you can expect as our Educational Evaluator : As our Educational Evaluator, you are responsible for completing educational evaluations for students at their three-year reevaluation timelines. This role works primarily across the entire Secondary Program and serves students with a wide range of disabilities, including students with complex and multiple disabilities.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Special Education, or Teacher of Students with Vision Impairments, and/or other related fields.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference may be given to candidates with experience in student evaluations, standardized assessments, experience working with students who have complex needs, and have a background in literacy instruction and/or being a teacher of the visually impaired

Responsibilities

  • Conduct educational evaluations using appropriate, adapted, and/or modified standardized and informal assessment tools, including observations across multiple environments and interviews with teachers and team members.
  • When appropriate, complete or contribute to Functional Vision Assessments (FVA) and Learning Media Assessments (LMA)
  • Work with students across all disability profiles, including those with visual impairments and complex learning, communication, and access needs
  • Collaborate closely with educational staff to review assessment results and support the development of appropriate, meaningful IEP goals
  • Write clear, comprehensive evaluation reports and share findings with teachers, families, and school districts in a timely and professional manner
  • Attend and participate in IEP meetings to present evaluation findings, explain recommendations, and answer questions from families and districts
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple evaluation timelines, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate documentation
  • Provide direct instruction to students as needed to support a students academic and IEP goals
  • Flexibility to float across programs as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
