About The Position

Responsible for providing an engaging and educational experience during special educational events such as Aquarium tours, dissections, experiments, games, behind the scenes tours, and visits to the touch habitats. Many events are held in the evening or overnight. Acts responsibly, is punctual, and takes initiative while building a positive rapport with guests and staff. Stays in monthly communication with the Learning Supervisor of Experiences about work availability and scheduling changes.

Requirements

Experience working with children in a formal and/or educational setting
Interest in biology, environmental science, marine science, outdoor education or elementary education
Experience in customer service and problem solving technique skills
Certification in First Aid and CPR preferred

Responsibilities

Conducts and leads themed educational event programs (e.g., sleepovers, evening programs, STEM nights, etc.)
Maintains guests’ safety and reports concerns to Security and the Supervisor of Experiences
Responsible for teaching or assisting with activities that correspond to special educational events
Educates guests using a variety of marine science content and props
Delivers extraordinary customer service to all Aquarium guests, including maintaining guest safety as well as assisting with group and individual needs
Works fairly and harmoniously with other team members
Keeps a punctual schedule of activities
Available to work over-night and evening hours
Attends required trainings and completes individual, team and/or organizational goals
Other duties as assigned
