Environmental Health & Safety Department The EHS team is responsible for collaborating with Construction, Operations, Contractors, Vendors, and various regulatory agencies to ensure the health, safety, and environmental risks of the company are protected and that everyone enjoys a safe and healthful workplace. This role can be based in any of our US locations: Denver, CO; Phoenix, AZ; Santa Clara, CA; San Antonio, TX; Columbus; Ohio, Atlanta; Georgia; or Ashburn, VA in alignment with our flexible work policy (3 days onsite required, 2 days flexible). Position Description Vantage is looking for a Environmental Health & Safety Communications Manager. This position will be responsible for improving the health and safety of our data centers, advancing safety culture, and protecting our employees by driving effective communication, leading Safety Week and safety-related summits, and ensuring strong alignment with contractors, unions, and customers. You will work closely with experts in security, construction, operations, logistics, compliance, corporate counsel, and human resources to further Vantage’s health safety program. You will partner with employees as well as contractors to achieve health and safety goals and improve our already strong safety culture. You will work in a fast-paced environment where our operations are rapidly changing, advocating safe changes in the face of new infrastructure, new tools, and new products/processes. Vantage is a leader in operational excellence and this position is pivotal to ensuring that we continue to lead the industry in this area with particular emphasis on executing and reporting on all EHS areas within the business. Requirements

  • A minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in EHS is required, with demonstrated knowledge and experience controlling the broad spectrum of risks across multiple sites.
  • Must have current working knowledge of OSHA regulations and standards and other non-regulatory safety standards applicable to the location
  • Must have familiarity with consensus standards such as those published by ANSI and NFPA.
  • Effective ability to operate beyond a compliance-based health and safety management approach in order to collaborate with all stakeholders to find solutions that support the business while identifying and controlling risk.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience with electronic document management systems (EDMS) and collaboration platforms.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under aggressive schedules.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Environmental, Health and Safety or a related degree in science/engineering discipline with coursework in risk management or safety is preferred, but not required, depending on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a consistent global communications rhythm for EHS, including newsletters, leadership updates, dashboards, and site-level messaging to drive alignment and transparency across all regions.
  • Create and manage recognition programs that celebrate safety excellence, highlight positive behaviors, and reinforce a strong safety culture across sites, functions, and global teams.
  • Ensure timely distribution and version control of EHS standards, procedures, and training materials.
  • Coordinate with contractors and JV partners to collect, review, and archive EHS documentation.
  • Implement digital tools and platforms for efficient document management under fast project timelines.
  • Train project staff and contractors.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of sensitive EHS records.
  • Develop and maintain centralized EHS document control system.
  • Manage version control and timely distribution of EHS procedures and standards, reinforcing unified communication and expectations for employees, contractors, and partners.
  • Collect, review, and archive contractor and JV partner EHS documentation, ensuring consistent standards and helping drive shared understanding of expectations and risk tolerance.
  • Develop tools and resources that energize local teams such as summits, culture campaigns, and recognition programs— to reinforce key safety behaviors and celebrate performance.
  • Contribute to culture‑building initiatives that help define and amplify EHS identity, driving behavior change and reinforcing safety as a core organizational value.
  • Any other duties assigned by management.
