Family First Health is seeking a EHR Conversion Data Entry Specialist for a Temporary position in our George Street York location. PURPOSE: This temporary position supports Family First Health’s transition to a new Electronic Health Record (EHR) system by ensuring accurate, timely, and secure entry of patient and clinical data. The role is critical to maintaining continuity of care during the transition and requires strong attention to detail, reliability, and respect for patient confidentiality. This role plays an important part in ensuring a smooth EHR transition that supports patient safety, care continuity, and long-term system improvement across the organization.

Requirements

  • Completion of at least 30 credits in a healthcare post-secondary program such as Nursing, Healthcare Administration, etc. OR completion of a Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, Registered Nurse, or similar curriculum.
  • Pre-Med students are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting or with EHR systems
  • Intermediate understanding of medical terminology
  • Attention to detail and ability to work with high volumes of data
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and standardized procedures
  • Reliable attendance and ability to meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of computer software applications (Microsoft Office Applications, others)
  • Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation as it relates to correspondence necessary to perform essential job functions
  • Knowledge of basic arithmetic to make calculations, balance and reconcile figures necessary to perform essential job functions
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Skill in operating office equipment
  • Ability to critically think which means the ability to think clearly and rationally about what to do or what to believe; understand logical connections between ideas; and identify, construct, and evaluate arguments

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience supporting system conversions or large-scale data projects
  • Prior experience with data entry, medical records, or administrative support preferred

Responsibilities

  • Accurately enter patient clinical, and historical data into the new EHR system
  • Validate and cross-check data migrated from legacy systems for completeness and accuracy
  • Identify and flag inconsistencies, missing information, or data quality issues
  • Follow standardized data entry protocols and workflows established for the transition
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and organizational privacy standards
  • Meet daily productivity and accuracy benchmarks
  • Collaborate with clinical, IT, and health information teams as needed to resolve questions
  • Participate in required training related to the EHR system and transition processes
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
