About The Position

The primary purpose of this role is to maintain records, conduct audits, conduct training, and ensure the facility meets Company, Operation Clean Sweep, and OSHA health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or related training equivalent - required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (with emphasis on Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint) and a capability to learn basic systems
  • Ability to type a minimum of 40 wpm with a minimum of 80% accuracy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Leadership skills that can be displayed in a complex environment
  • Experience with contract and cost negotiation
  • Ability to manage time, organize, and set priorities
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in similar title and scope of responsibility – preferred
  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification – preferred
  • CPR & First Aid Certified - preferred
  • Familiarity with process mapping and basic quality processes preferred
  • Mechanical inclination or familiarity preferred

Responsibilities

  • Review existing safety policies and procedures and update when necessary to stay compliant with Company and OSHA guidelines.
  • Assist with maintaining updated SDS Index records; perform annual audit of SDS program.
  • Assist with auditing JSA’s of all equipment.
  • Assist with directing the safety team during monthly meetings; maintain appropriate record of meeting minutes.
  • Conduct daily safety audits; identify areas for risk and opportunity and partner with the local Quality Department to address all areas identified.
  • Perform daily update of safety board.
  • Perform weekly audits of the eyewash stations.
  • Conduct monthly audits of GHS hazards.
  • Review LOTO forms, vehicle check sheets, and forklift check sheets.
  • Assist with conducting annual LOTO audits.
  • Perform monthly fire extinguisher and emergency lighting audits.
  • Perform post-accident investigations; record trends based on accident type and work area.
  • Partner with site leadership to develop and maintain programs that promote safety.
  • Other duties as assigned by the HSE Specialist.
  • Partner with HR and site leadership to develop and maintain programs that promote health.
  • Assist with facility Operation Clean Sweep compliance.
  • Conduct monthly OCS audits.
  • Maintain reports of product loss and environmental exposure.
  • Conduct daily environmental audits; identify areas for risk and opportunity and partner with the site leadership to address all areas identified.
  • Keep management abreast of significant issues or developments that impact quality, safety, health, or environmental.
  • Prepare and present statistical information to the management team (including but not limited to Near-Miss, Audit Nonconformance, Elements of Risk, Safety Violations, etc.)
  • Partner daily with the HSE Specialist to define objectives and priorities.
  • Participate in virtual Safety Dept. meetings.
  • Responsible for maintaining and organizing adequate stock levels of PPE, first-aid supplies, and other safety supplies.
  • Assist with purchasing of all safety supplies and equipment.
  • Enters and submits purchase orders for various Maintenance Dept. projects and stock replenishment.
  • Assist with updating new and current safety and environmental training programs to stay compliant with all Company standards.
  • Conduct new hire safety orientation training.
  • Assist with conducting required annual safety training for all associates; maintain a training matrix.
  • Perform annual reviews of all Safety Department documents and partner with the Quality Dept. to make the necessary updates.
  • Participate in the internal audit program for the site QMS.
