About The Position

The EHS Manager drives organizational safety by analyzing incident and near-miss data to mitigate risk and implement corrective strategies. They lead the Safety team in executing these measures while designing high-impact training to boost operational efficiency. Additionally, the Manager ensures total regulatory compliance across air, water, and waste streams through continuous research and cross-departmental collaboration.

Requirements

  • Ability to influence, motivate, and coach employees and plant management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication for reporting and training.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in analyzing safety data and trends to improve performance.
  • Proactive, hands-on approach to finding solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science (preferably in occupational health and safety).
  • 3-7 years of experience in EHS, specifically within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and ANSI standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Leadership and risk assessment experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish a plus.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or Associate Safety Professional (ASP), preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT).
  • Inspect facilities to identify and mitigate safety, health, and environmental risks.
  • Develop, deliver, and implement safety training programs for employees, including new hire orientation, hazardous material handling, and emergency response.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of the plant to identify hazards, machine safety violations, and risks (LOTO, confined space).
  • Investigate accidents, injuries, and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Collect, analyze and present incident / near-miss data to management team.
  • Oversee Safety Department to follow-up on correcting accident risks.
  • Maintain, review, and update safety records, permits, and as required MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets).
  • Coordinate fire prevention, building inspections and emergency preparedness.
  • Manage EHS policies, procedures, and manuals, such as Emergency Action Plans, PPE policies, and Risk Assessments.
  • Act as a liaison with management and staff to promote a “safety first” culture.
  • Maintain accurate records for OSHA 300 logs, incident reports, training documentation, and hazardous waste disposal.
  • Communicate with other managers and employees to determine training needs.
  • Maintain annual training calendar that reflects all training sessions, including annual reoccurring training events.
  • Additional responsibilities as needed.
