The EHS&S Intern is responsible for supporting safety, environmental, and industrial hygiene initiatives across the site. This role is geared toward college students looking to gain foundational experience in manufacturing and safety. This position reports to the Environmental Health & Safety Manager and is part of the EHS&S team located in Cortland, NY and will be an on‑site role.

Requirements

  • Students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in one of the following (or similar) fields: Environmental Health and Safety
  • Any related science, engineering, or technical discipline
  • Ability to walk the site, perform inspections, and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing setting with appropriate PPE provided.

Nice To Haves

  • Interest in environmental compliance, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort interacting in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support routine safety activities including site walks, basic risk assessments, and EHS system updates.
  • Assist with environmental inspections, data collection, and general reporting support.
  • Shadow industrial hygiene activities and help with basic exposure assessments.
