Basic Job Functions:The role of the EHS Coordinator includes working closely with Nucor Tubular teammates, contractors, and leadership to drive continuous improvement in safety culture, performance, and systems. Additional functions of this role include but are not limited to: providing support/resources to operations and maintenance for the implementation of safety and environmental improvements, conducting and/or supporting safety and environmental audits, inspections, and investigations, having a strong presence on the floor to build relationships and gain a thorough understanding of operations in each area, interpreting and practically applying regulatory and consensus standards (OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, EPA, etc.), building and facilitating effective safety and health processes, management systems, and training that drives hazard recognition and prevention, management of worker’s compensation claims, and interaction with regulatory agencies.
