What will you do in this role? Maintains environmental, health and safety programs and supports multiple sites across the organization. Assists management team with monitoring environmental compliance and safety metrics (i.e. chemical safety, ergonomics, illness and injury prevention). Ensures that all Licensing, Permitting or other environmental health & safety requirements are met and ensures non – compliance issues are resolved. Conducts compliance training, audits and inspects sites or lab environments to ensure compliance with global occupational safety and health standards. Recommends corrective action where hazard or risks exist. Complete risk assessments through observation of tasks and use of existing templates. Risk assessments may be chemical, biological, ergonomic or task based.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification.
  • Experience: Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5+ years). In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
  • Knowledge of laboratory protocols, Laboratory Safety Standard, OSHA and HAZCOM is required.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety related programs, incident and injury prevention is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, IATA, and other applicable regulations
  • Knowledge of worker's compensation requirements, laboratory and hazardous waste regulations to include hazardous chemical/biohazard storage and disposal regulations
  • The ability to plan, schedule and carry out work for successful project completion.
  • A positive attitude and ability to work well with others and excellent attention to detail.
  • Be able to communicate effectively and follow detailed written and verbal instruction.
  • Understanding of Industrial Hygiene monitoring strategies.
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to provide effective training
  • Solid problem-solving skills

  • Strong computer skills
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, which includes a drug screening.

  • Able to work upright and stationary and/or standing for typical working hours.
  • Able to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds.
  • Able to work in non-traditional work environments.
  • Able to use and learn standard office equipment and technology with proficiency.
  • May have exposure to potentially hazardous elements, including infectious agents, typically found in healthcare or laboratory environments.
  • Able to perform successfully under pressure while prioritizing and handling multiple projects or activities.
