About The Position

We are seeking a hands‑on Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support our six Massachusetts locations. In this role, you will partner closely with Facilities, site leadership, and cross‑functional teams to implement and continuously improve our EHS programs. You’ll serve as a key resource for regulatory compliance, employee training, incident prevention, and safety oversight—playing a critical part in ensuring our workplaces remain safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible. Requirements

  • B.S. degree or higher preferred (or equivalent experience in lieu of degree), in Environmental field or related discipline, and 2+ years of experience in EHS field
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of health and safety functions within a manufacturing environment and the federal and state regulations
  • Ability to lift 35 - 50 lbs
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to go up and down ladders

Nice To Haves

  • Environmental or OSHA related training such as HAZWOPER, GHS, etc., and /or certification for Wastewater Management/Operator is desired

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with Facilities and with first line supervision and management to implement the EHS Programs in an effective manner (focus on 6 MA locations)
  • Interact, meet and tour as necessary with the various local, state and federal agencies such as MWRA, OSHA, DEP, EPA, Insurance carriers, Local Fire/Police, and many others for permitting, inspection requirements and recommendations for each site
  • Perform proactive site safety inspections, monitors hazardous waste removal vendors, and assist in hazardous wastes protocols
  • Chair and lead the quarterly Safety Committee Meetings, site safety inspections per quarter (2), and coordinate with Facilities, lab/site stakeholders and first line supervision to complete corrective action items.
  • Lead incident investigations and root cause corrective action plans and corrective action implementations.
  • Manage the Safety Data Sheet program electronically on MSDS Online and 3E software
  • Train employees on company policies and regulations pertaining to employee safety in conjunction with Human Resources such as Blood Borne Pathogens, HazCom, Chemical Hygiene, LOTO, etc. and as applicable, lead the EHS section of new hire orientation
  • Schedule, oversee and management of the electronic documentation for the EHS programs such as CPR/AED, forklift training, the hearing conservation & safety shoe vans, industrial hygiene and Ergonomic programs
  • Review plans for operational projects, equipment installation, etc.
  • Determine compliance with safety, security and environmental requirements, responsible for monthly first aid kit inspections, PPE cabinets, fume hoods, eye wash stations, and walks with Facilities as part of the safety review for the gas detection system
