Coordinate, administrate and enforce Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs to ensure field operations and Ravago site complies with Federal, State and Local regulations, meets required supplier EHS protocols, Ravago EHS program and policies and that all employees work in a safe environment and are effectively implementing Ravago’s environmental initiatives. Areas of Responsibility / TasksPerformance must reflect appropriate level of expertise and achievement of the desired results for the items listed below. Safety Compliance: Assess the hazards of the value added services processes and ensure the implementation of systems to keep employees safe and minimize environmental risk with a focus on Life Critical Procedures and operational safety. Review existing safety policies and procedures and update when necessary to stay compliant with Company and OSHA guidelines. Maintain updated SDS Index records; perform annual audit of SDS program. Assist with creating, conducting, and maintaining JSA’s (risk assessments) of all equipment. Assist with directing the safety team during monthly meetings; maintain appropriate record of meeting minutes. Conduct daily safety audits; identify areas for risk and opportunity. Perform daily update of safety board. Perform weekly audits of the eyewash stations. Conduct monthly audits of GHS hazards. Assist with organization and recordkeeping of LOTO forms, vehicle check sheets, and forklift check sheets. Organize and conduct annual LOTO audits. Perform post-accident investigations; record trends based on accident type and work area. Partner with site leadership to develop and maintain programs that promote safety. Identify, record, communicate, and counsel safety violations. Maintain the Emergency Response Plan and coordinate drills for severe weather conditions. Maintain OSHA 300 logs. Other duties as assigned by the General Manager. Environmental Compliance: Assist with facility Operation Clean Sweep compliance. Maintain reports of product loss and environmental exposure. Conduct daily environmental audits; identify areas for risk and opportunity and partner with the site leadership to address all areas identified. Maintain records of environmental permitting. Health Compliance: Partner with HR and site leadership to develop and maintain programs that promote health. Coordinate annual audiograms and retests for all associates. Inventory Strategy (Replenishment): Responsible for maintaining adequate stock levels of PPE, first-aid supplies, and other safety supplies. Assist with purchasing of all safety supplies and equipment. Training: Develop and update new and current safety and environmental training programs to stay compliant with all Company standards. Conduct new hire safety orientation training. Conduct required annual safety training for all associates; maintain records of training. Quality Compliance: Perform annual reviews of all Safety Department documents and partner with the Quality Dept. to make the necessary updates. Participate in the internal audit program for Medina QMS. Communication: Keep management abreast of significant issues or developments that impact quality, safety, health, or environmental. Prepare and present statistical information to the management team (including but not limited to Near-Miss, Audit Nonconformance, Elements of Risk, Safety Violations, etc.) Partner with the Maintenance Supervisor to define objectives, priorities, and projects. Participate in virtual Safety Dept. meetings (interface with Safety Director and Ravago U.S. based HSE Specialists). Monitor severe weather conditions and report to site employees protocol for applicable safety actions. Partner with the Maintenance Supervisor and Director of Operations to maintain contractor safety protocols. General Leadership: Interviewing and hiring. Planning, assigning, and directing work.Appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees.
