About The Position

The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Technician supports the development, implementation, and sustainment of site-level Environmental, Health, and Safety programs. This role is responsible for conducting routine inspections, supporting compliance with regulatory and Polaris requirements, coordinating training programs, managing DOT documentation, and maintaining accurate ESG‑related data for corporate reporting. The EHS Technician partners closely with operations, maintenance, and leadership to promote a strong safety culture and ensure a compliant, safe, and environmentally responsible workplace.

Requirements

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across functions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to conduct effective employee training programs

Responsibilities

  • Supports compliance with applicable EHS regulations, Polaris policies, and site procedures through daily floor presence, coaching, and hazard identification.
  • Conducts routine EHS inspections including safety, environmental, ergonomic, and compliance walk throughs; documents findings and helps track corrective actions to closure.
  • Leads or assists with incident, near miss, and safety observation investigations, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Supports DOT compliance, including documentation management, medical certifications, permitting, recordkeeping, and coordination of driver qualification files.
  • Manages ESG data collection and reporting by gathering, validating, and submitting site environmental and safety performance metrics for corporate sustainability reporting.
  • Coordinates hazardous and nonhazardous waste activities, including storage, transport, disposal, manifests, and vendor interaction in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Supports environmental compliance programs such as stormwater inspections, chemical management, recycling activities, and required environmental reporting.
  • Develops, coordinates, and delivers EHS training programs, including onboarding, periodic refresher training, and topic specific programs (e.g., PPE, ergonomics, emergency response).
  • Maintains EHS documentation, logs, inspection records, training files, and compliance reports to support audits and ensure ongoing regulatory readiness.
  • Evaluates PPE and safety equipment to ensure proper selection, availability, and effectiveness.
  • Supports monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements, including compiling and analyzing performance metrics and presenting trends to site leadership.
  • Collaborates with site leadership and production teams to drive continuous improvement and support the integration of EHS expectations into daily operations.
  • Serves as a site-level resource for day-to-day EHS questions and support across all departments.
  • Assists with enterprise and site audits, helping prepare documentation and support regulatory readiness.
