About The Position

The District is seeking four (4) dedicated Elementary ELD teachers to serve on a high-impact Curriculum Selection Committee. We are prioritizing the adoption of a specialized, supplemental curriculum designed specifically for our Level 1 (Entering) and Level 2 (Emerging) students. Our goal is to evaluate, score, and select two modern programs for a pilot phase at two elementary schools to ensure our newest learners have the high-scaffolded resources they need to succeed.

Requirements

• Current ELD Teacher at one of the four elementary buildings.
• Experience working with Level 1/2 "Newcomer" populations.
• Interest in curriculum leadership and grant-funded instructional design.

Responsibilities

• Represent your school’s unique needs and student profile in district-level decisions.
• Evaluate 3–4 specialized newcomer curricula using a standardized rubric.
• Participate in "deep-dive" sessions with digital trial access and physical samples.
• Collaborate to design the pilot implementation plan and grant "Statement of Need."
