About The Position

The EE Architecture Domain Engineer is responsible to define the optimized portfolio of architecture solutions for a specific domain/subsystem (e.g. Body/Convenience Systems, ADAS, Infotainment, Chassis, etc) working with sub-system and component owners of the domain. Expertise in the Domain is required to be effective in this position along with overall vehicle electrical architecture knowledge.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 8 years of Engineering experience
  • Experience in EE Architecture design, Electrical Engineering architecture roles or System/Subsystem designs
  • Experience in defining and designing large complex embedded networked computer systems including definition of system topologies, components, and interfaces.
  • Good knowledge/experience in Network Communication Design: CAN, CAN-FD, LIN and Ethernet protocols.
  • Good knowledge/experience in Automotive Ethernet based communication protocols: Audio Video Bridging (AVB); Time Sensitive Networking (TSN); Service Oriented approach (SOME/IP); TCP/UDP; MQTT.
  • Good knowledge on off-board communication protocols (WiFi, 4G/5G, V2X connectivity).
  • Deep understanding of typical vehicle EE architectures and automotive development processes.
  • Experience to establish a professional network within the ecosystem of automotive suppliers, and technology companies such as: Computer system technology companies; International Standard Committees (ISO, IEEE), Semiconductor vendors; Start-up companies.
  • Strong systems thinker.

Nice To Haves

  • Master or PHD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Designed EE platforms or components for Service Oriented Architectures (SOA).
  • Track record experience with the design and requirements of the following complex automotive domains: ADAS/AD; Body; Cockpit; Connectivity, Powertrain, and Power Distribution.
  • Experience using networking tools such as CANalyzer, CANoe, PREEvision.
  • AUTOSAR process/tools know-how and application experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in EE Systems or EE Architecture R&D.
  • Exhibits excellent, clear, and detail-oriented written and verbal communications on highly complex topics.
  • Stellantis EE Architecture roadmap.

Responsibilities

  • Responsibility to define the overall architecture strategy for the Domain
  • Define portfolio of Architecture solutions for the Domain (all Archetypes)
  • Discuss/Resolve CRs impacting the Domain  for all architecture additions/changes
  • Create Long Term plans for the Domain (Technology Roadmaps)  along with subsystem teams
  • Ensure commonality / consistency of interfaces/solutions for Stellantis
  • Physical & Functional Partitioning and Allocation of features and functions in order to meet systems/subsystem performance requirements, plus cybersecurity and functional safety requirements
  • Create mechanizations / schematics for subsystem domains
  • Create topology/functional diagrams showing data exchange/interactions between the components and systems
  • Drive Interfaces Standardization for the Domain / Subsystem
  • Stay abreast of new technologies and solutions for the domain
  • Oversee the Functional System Design modeling following the allocation decisions
  • Oversee Network & Diagnostics system design following the allocation decisions.
  • Work with the hardware team to provide requirements for microcontrollers, memory and/or communication chipsets to support the physical/functional allocation decisions.
  • Relentlessly drive to early life cycle delivery through an agile approach.
