About The Position

Thermo-Trol Systems, Inc. is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as an Electrical Apprentice I. This apprentice will assist with day-to-day duties of various assigned projects. The duties shall include but not be limited to the following:

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of math, and able to calculate measurements essential for electrical work.
  • Willingness to learn under the supervision of an experienced electrician and supervisor.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Age 18 (those approaching the required age may be eligible and should apply).
  • Able to pass a background check.
  • Able to pass a drug screen for federal contractor requirements.
  • Hold a valid driver's license with clean driving record.
  • Able to clear security check needed to conduct work on federal bases and other property (as applicable for the assigned projects).
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Able to pass the initial math test necessary for Apprenticeship Program enrollment.
  • Enrollment and participation in the Apprenticeship Program with TTS partnered program.
  • Able to meet the physical requirements of the position, to include but not limited to lifting 25 lbs. or more, bending, squatting, standing for extended periods of time, and working in various small spaces and other non-office working environments.

Responsibilities

  • Run wires, install fixtures, and connect electrical components.
  • Assist with routine maintenance and repairs of electrical systems, and diagnosis of issues and performance of necessary fixes.
  • Help with testing circuits, equipment, and connections to ensure proper functionality and safety.
  • Adhere to and follow all safety regulations and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Study and apply the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant regulations.
  • Learn how to interpret technical drawings and diagrams showing the layout and components of electrical systems.
  • Other responsibilities as required.
