About The Position

PMI Kyoto Packaging Systems is looking for an Electrical Assembler to join our team in our Elk Grove Village office! PMI Kyoto Packaging Systems has been an industry leader in the packaging industry for over twenty years. We provide high end, custom machinery to a diverse, international clientele including many Fortune 500 companies. We are a dynamic and rapidly expanding company with great growth opportunity within our own staff. We take great pride in doing our manufacturing capabilities and we do all our assembly in-house.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent combined with certification classes (Technical School preferred) and/or years of experience in field.
  • At least 1-3 years experience with hand/power tools, drilling, taping, grinding, sawing, cable and wire installation, reading electrical schematics.
  • Electrical assembly knowledge and skills.
  • Verbal and written communication skills required: Ability to speak, write, read, and interpret documents in English.
  • Interpersonal skills required: Must be able to communicate professionally and collaborate with internal employees and maintain relationship with external vendors.
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills required: Outlook, Excel, and other programs to be utilized proficiently.
  • Solid mathematical skills required: Ability to calculate in all units of measure and apply formulas.
  • Must be able to apply common sense understanding and to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations.
  • Maintain work area to acceptable safety and housekeeping standards and assist with product quality, audits, and orders as needed.
  • Be able to lift and move up to 35-50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of specific packaging equipment components is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble electrical components according to schematics to complete a high-quality product for our customers in a timely manner.
  • Travel to customer sites for installations, repairs, warranty work, retrofits, safety improvements and equipment transfer as needed.
  • Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
  • Work closely with other departments to set priorities and communicate progress and needs.
  • Follow all established quality, safety, health, and all other Company policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Participate and support continuous improvement activities as well as on specific problem-solving opportunities to meet demand.
  • Must have good attendance and be flexible to work extended hours to successfully complete all duties of the position.
